What is the best clutch to buy for a tastefully modded 2.8 quattro?

Haha, no but really theres not much you can do to a 2.8 to get more than 10hp out of it on a budget. So im guessing plan around stock.

You can get a southbend stg.2 for about as much as an OEM clutch ($400 range.) It'll be beefier than stock, and you wouldn't sacrifice daily driveability with increased pedal effort.

It would feel better than the stock clutch. More grabby but not harshly so.

Depends on what type of pedal feel you want.

If you want a stock feeling clutch then go with the Clutch Masters FX300, it will run you around $700.

If you want a pedal feel that is stiffer then stock then go for the South Bend stage 2 HD-TZ or HD-OFE, it will run you around $485.

If you want a really stiff pedal you want to go with the South Bend Stage 3 SS-TZ which will run you around $535.

Those are SB's <2009 clutch line, not the new 2010 line up. Seems someone needs to update their web site like many of the SB dealers. The SB 2010 clutch line for the A4 has changed and so has their prices.

This is the new SB clutch line for the A4 2.8, this was started ealier this year.

Audi A4 2.8L (1996-2001) Clutch Only K70007
South Bend list retail prices
Stage 1 - HD - (HD) - $399
Stage 2 - HD-O - (Daily) - $425
Stage 2 HD-TZ or HD-OFE - (Endurance) - $475
Stage 2 HD-DXD-B (Drag) - $475
Stage 3 SS-O - (Daily) - $500
Stage 3 SS-TZ or SS-OFE - (Endurance) - $525
Stage 3 SS-DXD-B - (Drag) - $525
Stage 4 SS-X - (Extreem) - $600

The 2010 line up doesn't even include the FE or even a stage 5 as you can see.
