Hello all,

I am about to embark on replacing the front end of my 97 A4 quattro. A friend with a '99 A4 is doing his at the same time. I have found a complete kit on ebay here: AUDI A4 , A6 , PASSAT COMPLETE FRONT SUSPENSION ARM KIT | eBay
The kit references 20mm ball joints. I have searched the threads but haven't found out whether that would be an upgraded ball joint or not. I have asked the seller how I can tell and was helpfully told to check my car. Can somebody help? If I need to check my car , what do I actually measure or is this (hopefully) buried in the VIN somewhere. Is the '99 different. i would rather not ship kit from the UK to Canada only to find it doesn't work.

Those should be fine.

FIY FCP groton has groupbuy prices on their Control arm kit's right now. Starting at 205 shipped plus like 30 for shipping to canada. I got the #2 kit and it's holding up quite well so far.

be careful with ebay kits!!!! i ordered one for 180$ and ended up getting the FCP kit because the ones i got were cheap and flimsy. the new kit was much better quality. DONT skimp on suspension parts.
