I don't really want to buy anaftermarket hidkit, so is itstill plug and playto use stockbulbs and ballastsfrom an 01 a4 in my 98 a4.What elsewould I need?

the hid bulbs and stock bulbs are totally different. there's no way around it. you have to get the whole kit unless you can find some1 selling the ballast and some1 else selling the hid bulbs
