basically i want my car lowered. thats all i know.

What i need to know is -
  • how much i need it lowered without looking overly riced out
  • a good ratio between comfort and sport (i assume lower car means harder ride)
  • what exactly i need to get this done
  • how much money i am going to shell out

  • so where do i start?

First off, i think they are plenty of topics like this already that you can search for.

Dumped car = riced out?? ummm.....

    Are you doing it yourself?

How much are you trying to spend? Reasoning is you can get springs to a full damper kit. Springs can be a couple hundred. Damper kits can be around $1000.

dumped car = can be riced out, depending on who's driving

i was planning on getting the parts and then having a former Audi mechanic install them for me. Basically, to answer your question, someone who knows what they are doing is going to install them for me.

What is the difference between springs and a full damper kit? (i know NOTHING about suspension)

do it yourself its the easiest thing. and the cheapest since your probably worried about money if your talking about shelling out money. springs and shocks run like about 700 shipped and i ride on h&r race and i think it can be pretty rough, i think it looks better with no wheel gap.

i would do it myself. the problem is "how". i know my way around the engine bay (enough) but as far as suspension goes...im lost

Vmaxx coilover are cheap at $550 and are pretty soft so are a nice ride not like a riced out civic. If wanting to DIY Coilovers or Spring and shock. I paid about $300 including the 4 wheel alignment to have mine installed.

    (stupid question alert)
i noticed on one of the charts that is shows a "drop range". does this mean the amount that it will bounce going over a bump, or is the height adjustable?
