big end bolt tightening torque?

hi there, sorry, I thought you guys used the term big end as well haha. the bolts that keep the cap on the bottom of the connecting rod. There's a worrying knocking noise coming from the engine and I reckon the big end bearings, or at least one of them is nearly dead. What's a big end called in america just out of interest?

Certainly here in scotland and britain in general it is a connecting rod (usually con-rod) with a big end and a little end.
I dont think the Tdi engine is all that popular in the states, not when petrol (gas) is so cheap. Over here petrol is around £1.40 per litre, think that works out about $11-12 a gallon (uk gallon though). Diesel is even more expensive at about £1.50 per litre.
