Default Big problem with my little a4

Well the past few days my oil light has been coming on when the engine warms up and it has been making a ticking noise. It's now starting when I rev it up when it's cold. I have the new audi filter (the bigger one) and am using castrol syntec 5w-40. I'm really baffled. Any suggestions?

around 180. the oil temp doesnt rly change. it's more the pressure I think than the temp.

i would try a can of seafoam in with the oil and run it for a little bit, see if theres some sludge in there that might be restricting oil flow/pressure. that would explain the ticking noise (sticky lifters). run it for a few miles with the seafoam in there and then change your oil and filter. if you dont know what seafoam is, use the search function.

Yes I am familiar with seafoam. I'll run down to the store and get it right now actually, but I'll take my moms car lol. Thanks alot. I'll be back if the problem persists.

sounds like low oil pressure cuz the pickup tube is clogged...so the oil isn't getting to the top side of the motor causing the clicking...

I had the same problem, and when I dropped the oil pan my pickup tube was covered in gunky a$$ sludge...I cleaned it off and did an oil/filter change and the car has been mush happier for the last year...

gl!

Or maybe the oil pressure sending unit?

can be, but not likely since the light and the ticking came near the same time, right? Id try the seafoam for sure, just dont leave it in there too long, it'll require another oil change after like 50 miles. Might as well do the gas and intake system while your at it too. GL and let us know how it goes.
