Default Boost. that is the question at hand lol

ok guys.. ive been away for a lil while, well ive been doing a few things to the A4 (Bertha) lol. well i did the Diode mod and MBC got the diode in just fine now the MBC i bought one of them cheap *** Ebay ones yea i already figured it out that they dont work lol.. but my question is.. on the diode install thing in the faq it says dont go higher then 18psi on stock fuel components well when i put that Ebay special MBC in i was spiking well over 20 psi which is the max on my gauge and well she took every bit of it the only thing that didnt like it was my clutch it just kept slipping lol its OEM so i knew that would happen. but my Air Fuel gauge never went lean.. it stayed rich (2 bars green) the whole time.. and i gapped my plugs and everything she didnt spit or sputter foot on the floor on 20psi 5th gear ballin down the high way and not so much as a hickup i find this odd.. whats your guys's opinions

P.S. im ordering the Forge bleed MBC tuesday so i can acually controll my boost CCA4 and i have been chatting back and forth cuz we have been doing the same mods and he hasnt had a problem with it so far so im gonna get that from ECS

So... Please tell me your using a wideband o2 setup? I never trust narrowbands for **** honestly, and there could easily be flat spots and other things that a narrowband cant pick up. Its been proven that the stock fuel system is unable to accurately handle boost over "around" 18 with a diode alone. Thats why the chips are better (since they can tune the fuel map for higher pressures)

Just my opinion, but at over 16psi untuned, your taking a serious gamble with your car

well i cant manage to find any A/F Gauges that say they are wide band.. i just assumed they all were so i have no idea if i do or dont.. i got mine at autozone its a sun pro wired it in to the last O2 sensor on the cat (farthest one from the turbo) and its been fine.. every where i read said if it wasnt wide band and hooked up in my car it would just bounce around constantly like a disco ball.. it never bounces around.. so i guess link me a Wide band and ill order it.. but either way. it says its running rich 2 bars in the green now if it was leaning out in the higher RPMS i would atleast think it would drop into the orange (Ideal) but like i said it stays in the green till i let off the gass then itll come down.. now when i was running MAF less anything near 15psi i was running lean in the higher RPMS it would drop way in the red and spit and sputter.. when i put my new MAF in boost cranked and not so much as it going in the orange ideal at WOT... and its never thrown a code or anything..

i have an APR inlet pipe, muffler delete, FMIC that will be on next week.. platinum spark plugs gapped down to .028 i think that was the gap.. either way they are gapped down for more boost.. diode mod on the MAP.. right now i have the N75 put in cuz of the faulty MBC i got.. so im only pushing 5psi which is weird cuz i did the diode before i got a new MAF and no MAF and the diode i was pushing 12 psi with the N75 hooked up.. now with the MAF and N75 and Diode itll on first start shoot up to 12psi then drop down to 5psi and hold 5psi till i turn the car off and back on..

You are running a narrow band 02 sensor gauge and it is completely worthless on a Turbo car. Even more worthless seeing that you have it connected to the narrow band 02 sensor after your cat. Since they are designed for a NA car, when it says Ideal it is talking about a AFR for a NA car which runs way leaner then a Turbo car. You might want to log your block 031 with a vagcom to see where your 02 sensor voltange reads are at during WOT.

There are tons of different wide band gauge kits, they will all come with their own wide band 02 sensor. Innovate is pretty much at the top for wide band setups. Podi offers some gauge setups that use a Innovate LC1 cable.

I just shipped one of these kits to someone in Greece. Kit cost $209.

My car has the wideband at the rear?

And im assuming ill have to have 3 o2 sensors in my downpipe now? Or is there some way to use just one wideband 02 for both the gauge and the car?
