Each mid range speaker is capable of creating a small amount of bass. But nothing compared to an actual sub speaker which is capable of reaching the lower tones where the mid ranges are not. The Bose speakers that were stock in Audi's were pretty sweet. But, most speakers now offer crystal clear sound, the average person isn't going to hear a difference between your stock Bose and some nice Pioneers or Klipsch. Either of those brands would be great speaker choices. Or you can find someone parting out an old Audi with Bose speakers and see how much they will sell the speakers for! Good Luck, and if you like bass.....Get a seperate sub and amp. You will be very pleased with the results!

I have a stock sub in mine, but I think thats because avant, not because bose. In any case, my list for the winter includes swapping the stock one out for something with a little more oomph.

lol i dunno about all that noise, i was thinking a small amp and a reasonably sized woofer, maybe 8 or 10 inches. I don't need to rattle the rear view mirror off the windshield or make old people angry, just want a little more depth to muh music

I recently replaced my rear decks with Infinity Kappa 63.9i's. I am an employee of Harman so I get sick deals and these kick. I plan to replace the others in the car with this series. And these DO fit the car perfectly.

Infinity Kappa 63.9i 6-3/4" 3-way car speakers — for 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" openings at Crutchfield Signature

I need to replace my two front door speakers, already have mounting rings and the old ones out, just need to buy the new ones and reinstall. All on the list for this winter
