Brake light out, replaced bulb, now tail light is out. Help?

And I cannot get it to work at all!

Note: When taking out the bulb harness(if that is what it is called) I broke the tail light/brake light bulb. I replaced it with an 1157 bulb and now the brake light works, but my tail light will not turn on. I switch the bulb from the passenger side, which does work for both lights, and it too works for the brake, but not the tail light.

I have triple checked that I placed the bulb in correctly.
I have made sure there was nothing inside the harness to screw up a connection.
I have made sure all the wires from the wiring harness to the bulb harness are secure/not corroded or cut.

No clue what to do or what to test now to see what the culprit is. Could it be a fuse? I thought if the fuse went out the brake light would not work either.

Help?

Are you sure you're not confusing one of these bulbs with the rear fog light?

Is it a dual filament bulb or single?

Have you checked for 12V?

If it was a fuse, both rear tails would be out.

Just throwing out some info to think about.

I think you got a single filament bulb!
