Default Brake warning light?

Hi there, my audi a4 2.4v6 has its brake warning light, its the circle with the ! in the middle kind of like this ((!)) but the center is a full circle. Now is this just the handbrake switch or could it be other things? the car drives fine and brakes fine and the handbrake works and disengages ok. Thanks in advance.

right, also got brake light malfunction light lit as well, its an upside down bulb with a cross through it in a circle with brakets either side of the circle, the brake warning light is large and red in the bottom half of the display and the brake light malfunction light is orange in the top half of the display. What would cause this?

I posted on this a couple of weeks ago (with a picture of the light). In my case it was the brake pad wear sensor on the right front wheel. Pads and rotors are going on tomorrow.

When you change pads/rotors, are those sensors suppose to be changed at the same time ?

I have a "brake light warning" coming on but can't figure it out for 3 weeks now. My Pads are thick, but my rotors need to be changed. THe sensor wasn't changed with the pads either.
