break lights??

I put a LED strip pointing down on the rear bumper so it would illuminate when the break is pressed.....http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/2742/att8033423.jpg... and i wired it directly to the bulb harness circuit thingy.....http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/9750/cimg0329t.jpg....the LED illuminates when the break is pressed only when all the headlights are off...is there a different way to wire it so it will light up when the break is pressed and the headlights are on?
thnks

just find the brake light wire on the loom not the circuit board and that will light it when you brake whether lights are on or off

i think what's happening is the LEDs are being shorted when the headlights are turned on. ground the LED to the chassis instead of on the circuit
