Buying Adivce

I originally posted this on the AudiWorld forums, but I didn't get a response. Sorry to cross post, but I just want to make sure I'm not wasting money.

Anyway, I'm going to look at a 96 A4q 5 speed 2.8 12V this Saturday and am just trying to figure out if it seems like this deal is too good to be true. It's got 146k, currently mechanic owned and he says he recently replaced the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat. The car supposedly has only a few minor flaws (driver's seat bottom is torn to hell, driver's door lock cylinder is missing, and a dash light is out behind the tachometer). I was lucky enough to see the Craigslist ad only a few hours after he put it up so I'm first in line. He's only asking $1200, does this seem out of the ordinary to any of you guys? Thanks.

Seems awfully cheap to me for that little mileage. Drivers side seat being torn up if pretty common, once they start to split they pretty much fall apart after another year or so, especially if its a short trip car where the driver is getting in and out all the time. My sons lower seat cover is practically held on by the aftermarket cover installed over it. Light out behind the dash is probably a 15 minute job to replace.

Yeah, the lights and seat cover don't bother me too much. However, with the door lock missing, I wonder if any water could have gotten inside the door. Also, I think I saw somewhere that if you replace the instrument cluster without programming the mileage to the car's computer first that it'll just assume the mileage of the cluster, which makes me think that maybe it's a high mileage car with a different cluster which is why he's selling it for cheap.

Does anyone know of a cheap source for the seat covers?
