Default buzzing from instrument cluster,

Hi,

my car is a 2000 audi a4 1.8ts quattro. Annoyingly, as soon as the instruments are lit, there is a considerable buzzing sound originating from the instrument cluster. Any idea what is causing this? Do I need to worry about it ?

Thanks everyone ,

does your "dinger" work when you leave the key in with the door open? theres a speaker back there that could cause this

had the same issue. when you take out the instrument cluster, take off the plastic cover (assuming you have one) theres a little black speaker. rip it off that solved my problem. everytime id turn on my headlights at night the thing would not shut up for at least 30 seconds.

thank you both for your suggestions, the noise is not the one that comes on when I open the door not having turned off the lights, I can't hear the buzz over the engine when it is running, but when turned off, and the instruments are lit, then there is an electronic buzzing sound coming from the instruments. maybe it is normal, but I have not noticed it on my fathers car and he has the same model
