can i turbo my v6?

i think k04s on a 2.8 are a bad idea. thats on the threshold of what a 2.7 can handle. maybe some k03s possibly on low boost. what i think they are getting at with this kit is utilizing as much stock 2.8 equipment as possible and keeping it simple by only using one turbo. this means you get to use stock exhaust manifolds, plus you dont have to worry about the complications of the twinturbo setup. with that said, vgo if youre interested i would start buying the necessary s4 parts while they are still cheap. things like the intake manifold, fuel rail and s4 exhaust are a must for turboing your 2.8 if this kit takes off, expect prices for these used parts to take off as well. and what you said about swapping out the 6262 for a k04 wouldnt really work. it might add a few hp, but a single k04 wouldnt really do much for a 2.8. youd have that much money in it so you might as well go with bigger turbo. plus it would have to be adapted for k04 flange yadda yadda.

Sorry, not buying; I'd lay odds it is cheaper for a individual (such as my son) with a B5 A4 2.8 to sell it and then buy an S4 of roughly the same vintage and condition. In fact, when it comes time to move on to a different ride (i.e. disposing of the A4 or S4), the cash recovery from a stock or lightly modified S4 will be many times that of a highly modified A4 (which pound for pound won't have the value of a steaming pile of poo).

I was just watching a single turbo 2.8 on youtube last night. Great freaking car, but the guy has crazy attitude problem and drove carelessly in one of his vids. He also dyno'd it as well to prove his numbers.
It is quite a commitment for anyone to go that route of turboing a 13yr old car. But there are people who spends just as much money on old muscle cars and hot rods.
Anyway, if this kit pulls through. I certainly will consider it as a feasible option. Maybe even get PES to lower their G2 prices.
I am kind of taking 034 their words when they say their kit will run safer than an supercharger. I also like the idea that you don't need to pull the motor if the turbo craps out. That's one reason why I didn't want an S4.
I've read a few threads here and there that S4 turbo's K03 ans K04s are just ticking bombs.

I am very interested to see where this goes. I have been saving up for some time to purchase a PES G2 for my 2.8 and have been addressing the proper areas of my life to make my audi a 2.8 avant with 300+ hp a realistic goal (i bought another car to drive everyday). I have talked to a a few people with PES kits willing to sell for $2200 or less (no ecu, but PES offers the tune for some extra $$$). But now seeing a single turbo 2.8 by 034 makes me really believe that one day (years and a lot of money from now) that I might be able to achieve 400+. I hope this project takes ground soon so i don't do a rebuild and supercharge then kick myself in the *** for not swapping a 2.7t block and turboing.
For now I will be driving a ford escort wagon (that's right I own 2 wagons) scheming to make my girl back home the ultimate sleeper.
BTW, I am on tour this summer playing guitar and singing, check out Shows to see my tour schedule.
No Audi on this tour, had to retire her from the long hauls at 170,000 miles.

Redline, you might've misunderstood what I meant - I'm not talking twin K04 turbos for a 2.8 - I mean use a single K04, which is considerably smaller than the turbo they're using. It'd let you spool faster, still make the boost the 2.8 can take with ease, the plumbing would be smaller (looks like 3" piping in the pics on 034's car), the turbo costs less, etc. efficiency goes up with the engine spinning a smaller turbo, a stock 1.8T intercooler could handle the cooling duty, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the stock injectors and pump being ok to fuel 7-8psi. That's a budget setup and it'd probably sell well, getting the car up around 260hp or so I imagine, and it'd open the doors to future upgrades for more power, rather than having to shell out a ton of money all at once.
Vgo, swapping in a K04 on that setup probably wouldn't be cost-effective, as I doubt the Precision turbo uses a compatible turbine flange to mount up, the piping is too big, and you'd have to have another tune created to handle it all.
