can the tiptronic handle my future plans?
im lookin in the far future (1-3yrs) from now on doing a BT. i just want to do a simple k04 or k04 hybrid, awe sells the k04 kit i want. i want to run the pc-16 setup, apr FMIC, R1 DV, HFC unsure of brand, full 3" custom exhaust, and of course the tip chip. this is guna be a dd and it probably see the 1/4 mi drag strip about 1hr away every once an awhile. so my main concern is the trans and its abilitly to handle that much power. if i do go through with this the car will have atleast 100k on it. it now has 90k and ive been finding that is has been kind of neglected by the last owner, ive been finding small things as i go. so its either i start saving for the turbo kit-setup or save for a sport bike that ive been wanting to have for the past 2yrs.
From what I have heard and other people on this forum will tell you the K04 turbo is not good for the stock tiptronic transmission the torque curve is brutal for this transmisson. Your best bet would be to go with one of the eliminator turbos from atp turbo it will cost a little more but you will see way better horse power numbers, its up to you though.
Go GTRS Elim
I'm researching this topic right now for future plans with my tip. Most likely going to go GTRS, GT2X doesn't seem like the one to go with. But in the end I think this is going to cost me $4k-$4500 from start to finish.
Anyone think my Borla Exhaust will not be ok to use with a GTRS setup?
