Car hesitates while accelerating
 

So im having this on going issues, my car hesitates when accelerating (randomly) and the car has lower power and bad gas mileage. Today when i was driving i shifted into 3rd and gave gas, the car just jerked forward and took forever to speed up while i was flooring it. The car is pretty damn slow and feels very unpowered and im getting like 14-15 mpg. I've changed the fuel filter, MAF sensor, air filter, new spark plugs, engine coolant sensor (thinking this was affecting my bad mileage), i even tried fuel injector cleaner and that didn't do anything. Im stuck here the car drives like crap and i have no check engine light. Any ideas on what i could be?

Brakes engaged or seized maybe?

Could this be related to a dirty TB?

I'm having random no-acceleration problem intermittently. usually notice it around 130K+ will shift into 6 and get no top end power. will downshift, upshift again, and will get power. i'm thinking bad turbo, or a boost leak.

Check your spark plug wires or coil packs. I'm not sure which you have. If you have coil packs, also check the wiring going to the coil packs. I replaced spark plugs on my 2.8 and had bad hesitation under acceleration. Turned out to be a bad spark plug wire.

I've been having the same exact problem, and changed all the same parts. Personally my next step is to check the DV to see if it's on it's way out. If you figure anything out, let me know... I'll do the same.

Thanks ill try and figure it out next week, im also thinking it could be my fuel pump. But im going to replace my coils and swap out my DV.

i also noticed when i come to a complete stop my engine vibrates and my rpms jump up but this only lasts for half a second and then it goes back to normal. it happens randomly.

And i also made a video with the sound it makes under acceleration 2001 audi a4 1.8t sound - YouTube sorry if its hard to hear maybe someone who knows a lot about this could pin point the issue. Watch in 1080p for best sound. Is that sound it makes (air sound) normal?

I am pretty sure I have found my problem, but I can't say for sure until I actually get the parts to fix it. I have had several people look at my audi and say the same exact thing, and that is that the plug that goes into my MAFS is broken and also the MAFS that was put in my car is cheap. If I unplug my MAFS... my audi runs alittle rough, but the hesitation is completely gone! So I will be replacing the MAFS with an OEM Bosch one, and also will put a brand new clip/plug in. I notice my hesitation at about 3.5k-4k RPMs, when does yours start?

Have you done anything involving your MAFS lately?
