Default Car starts but then stalls

Hey new problem here...2000 a4 quattro 1.8t. Drove to the store this morning, car worked fine. When i came out of the store i started the car and it started but after about 20 seconds it turned off on its own. The car will continue to start but then dies within 5 seconds. Any ideas?

Any check engine lights or codes?

Could be a ton of things but initially I'm thinking coolant temp sensor.

It should be immediate if something goes wrong. When my car didn't start due to a bad crank position sensor, it threw the code when I was turning it over.

My friend is bringing his code reader over tomorrow so ill see if it has anything on it but now instead of the car starting for 2 or 3 seconds before stalling, it just wont start at all. It turns over fine but just wont start.

Sounds like the crank sensor. But that would throw a code.
Make sure you've got fuel. Doesn't seem like spark or air would just stop flowing for any reason. Fuel pump might have gone bad.

Well i pulled the fuse panel to check the fuel pump relay and i put my finger on it when i tried to start the car and i could both hear and feel it click so i think the relay is fine.

Whats the best way to test a fuel pump...is there some kind of fuel pressure test port located anywhere?

Unfortunately no test port that I know of.
I can't attest to this because my hearing must be bad, but evidently you can hear the pump flip on and prime when you turn the key to 'on' (i.e. not turning over).
Too be honest I had to take a fuel line apart and t in a pressure gauge to test mine. Granted I was testing the pressure and not just whether it was on at all so you might not need to do so. I would just google 'bad fuel pump symptoms'. Sorry I can't be of more help here. I know a LOT of people know more about bad fuel pumps than me.

Well im also seeing alot of the these symptoms point to the crankshaft position sensor like you were saying, based on other forums, so i might try that first
