Default Coil Spring Bent Misaligned

I was investigating some rear noise my ride was making and noticed that the coil spring was a bit bent. The coil did not surround the strut equally on both sides, it was a kinda u shaped, touching the strut on one side and more exposed on the other. It definitely did not look right, not like the other rear shock.

So, could this create some rear noise? Is this a big concern and if so whats the easiest way to fix it?

Depends on what kind of noise it was making but yes, that could do it. If the spring shifted or the bottom section on the first coil winding snapped off (which is very common) then it definitely can make noise and throw off the handling and ride.

Nothing looks broken or snapped off. Maybe it shifted.

Can it shift if I jack up the rear to change tire etc.?

You can try but you may have to take the assembly out. If you don't have spring compressors, it's only 7 bolts to free it and remove the spring/strut assembly. Take it to a shop to fix it. Should cost you more than $25-30 or so, then reinstall it.

Are you sure that a part of the coil hasn't sheered off? It looks awfully rusty in the lower left of your picture. It would be nearly impossibly for the spring to just shift over on the perch. I would find a used replacement spring before you take anything apart. It should be cheap as many owners install aftermarket suspension.

^^^^This^^^^ I strongly suspect the last inch of that spring is laying there, right against the break and you just can't see it.

Been there.

Yup, another vote for a broken spring.
