confused

ok so today i was driving home froms school and saw an audi a6 2.7t, is that the same engine as the s4? if yes why isnt this audi an s6 not a6? wtf! i had no idea that they made a6 with that engine.

because not only does the engine but the body makes an S6 an S6. just like how the A4 comes with 1.8t and 2.8, the A6 comes with 2.7TT and 4.2. of course new engines were offered in the later years

i though a6 came with 2.8 and 4.2 hehe i kinda wish i had the 2.7tt a6

And now you can get an A6 with a 3.2T (which is actually supercharged, not tubro). That car won in a comparision between a bunch of other luxury sport sedans in the $50K range in a recent Car and Driver or similar magazine. I guess what happened was the results were so close with the judges that they all had to pick which car would they drive if they had to take it from LA to NY. The A6 was almost the unanimous choice for the final question.

Oh, and the new S6 and S8 has a 5.2L V10!

The A6 is bigger, heavier and more expensive than an A4 and thus more engine is expected.
