Coolant flange location
I'm trying to change the coolant flange in my 01 audi a4 1.8 turbo. The problem is that I've been following a DIY but I'm not able to locate the coolant flange, can someone post a clear picture so I can get an idea of were it is, I know it supposed to be behind the motor but I cant seem to find it.
Welcome to AF!
The flange you're looking for is on the back of the cylinder head, below and to the driver's side of the combi valve. I posted an exploded view of an AWM head for you. The combi valve can be seen more easily than the coolant flange, it's shiny and round. Find that (#12 in the diagram), then look down and to the right, if you're standing in front of the car. You'll see the coolant temperature sensor plugged into a black flange, that's the coolant flange. It's #14 in the diagram. Hope that helps!
