Couple other questions regarding turbo build...
Just some more simple questions about swapping in a big turbo.
At what whp level should you ditch the fuel pump and upgrade? A good replacement non wallet breaking replacement?
What tire size is best suggested for a 17" rims? 225/45/17? 215/45/17?
I know I have some others but I forgot. I will ask later.
Yes I searched about the fuel pump.

depends on the size of the wheel but on my 17x8 I run 235/40/17 - dont like too much tire and I see a pretty big difference between a 45 and a 40
I'd say its a safe idea to upgrade the fuel pump for any turbo larger than a k04. You might not need it but its there, and I can go to the local shop and get a walbro for $85-$100. Just good insurance for $100.

I agree on good insurance but I am having a serious hard time understanding how the pump works in our vehicles. It looks to be in case of some sort. Will any Walbro fit? I am not a big fan of the Walbro wine either.

i run the gss340 walbro. can be had pretty cheap. but i am not aware of any pumps that are an abosolute direct replacement except for maybe an rs4 pump, but that cash. i just cut my basket open a bit bigger on the bottom, and threw a couple orings around the pump to make it fit snug. you could get an s4 pump, but they are like 110 lph compared to our stock 90.
as for tires 225/45/17 is stock size with 17". you could probably fit 235's, and with some work fit 245's, but ride quality is going to go down cause you wont be able to fit a tall enough tire if they are that wide. stick with 225/45's

I currently have 225/50 17 and the car is dumped. On sharp off camber turns they rub and it is driving me nuts. I was hoping to go with 215/45 17 to be honest. I do plan on rasing the car back up though.
How much whp is the stock pump good for?
