Angry Curb rash!!!!

I bought a brand new set of rims about 1 month ago and have already put curb rash on two of them.... grrrrrr. I haven't felt me car touch the curb any time I've parked it, but somehow on both passenger side rims, there is now curb rash. This is incredibly frustrating. I guess I'm just looking for some sympathy/ bound to happen comments from you guys. I know it can be repaired, but I would probably just end up doing it again.

I am on the cusp of buying new wheels and my friend recommended I join the site to find out if the wheels can handle wider tires than what is recommended. ie going from 235 to 245. The objective is that the rubber will hang over the rim a bit more protecting the wheels.

My wheels had some bad rash when I got the car - I fixed it though. It wasn't too hard to do! My GF calls me crazy when I park a foot out from the curb but who's laughing now?

DIY if you need it:

Yeah its gonna happen either way, its just a matter of when. I've also seen tires that have a little ledge by the bead that sticks out, the idea being that the little ledge will bumb the curb before the wheel. Can't think of which brand they are off the top of my head..

Good luck gettin them fixed, those are nice lookin wheels!

If you nail an edged pothole hard enough, you'll damage them just like curb rash.
