i want someone to try the new force performance gt28hta or 30hta turbo out
Didnt see a gt28hta, that would be pointless if they did. The new 30hta looks promissing. I like the .70 a/r cover like that on the 30/3582r and it gaining 3lb/min.Not sure i would pay $1700 for it when i can just get a 35r and s258 or $1300 or just get the 35hta for the same $1700.

lol had to outdo me huh[8D]

i'd say go with a t3t4 50 trim .48 a/r. sourced properly it will be very cheap (see the parts section from my guide), make more power than the t3s60 and spool only slightly later. and if your willing to sacrifice a little more spool you can get a .63 and make even more power. kinetic has a sale going on right now too. so now would be the best time to start picking up pieces of the setup. you cant reuse GIAC but you can try selling it in the classifieds for cash + stock ecu and make a little something back.
Of course, tried to make it as clear as possible for everyone.

THe 50trim is bigger than what he wants. Talking with him previously, he wants something with very little lag and to be able to keep up with a S4 so he doesnt have to trade in his car for one. A chipped S4 runs high 13's to low 14's depending on the driver and he can get there and then some with a gt28r/rs or t3s60.
yeah, i'd say they complement each other quite nicely. added a link to yours in the bottom of mine

and yeah if you want minimal lag i'd go for the t3s60. the 28r might be cheaper, but the s60 has a much nicer powerband. oh wait i forgot its only oil cooled so it must be crap[8D]

the 28r and t2s60 with wastegate (internal or external) are both ~$800.

what? A gt28r comes with a T25 .64 housing

And for those that dont know, it actually has a gt25 turbine wheel and not a gt28 wheel like the RS and 71r. Its real name is the gt2560r and the RS is the gt2860r

No, the gtrs is a RS chra with a gt28r compressor cover and ko3 style turbine.

Since the t3s60 is oil cooled, that might mean I have to do extra stuff to hook it up, meaning more stuff could go wrong, and I would have to do more maintenance.

Also, since I am doing this myself I think I should go with something that is more common so that the common issues would be more well known and I would have more help. I was thinking that it may be worth it for me to spend more $$$ for the gt28rs, even though the gt28r would probably suit my needs of being faster then a chipped S4 0-60.

I think that narrows it down to gt28r vs gt28rs. How much more is the cost of the rs? Would you agree more people on the forum are using that?

All turbos are oil cooled. The gt turbos are also water cooled unlike the T3 turbos.

The RS has far more potential than the 28r, but the RS is $1100 and the 28r is $800. If you dont mind spending the extra $300, the RS is a nicer turbo.
