Differential problems Audi S3
Hi Everyone!
I'm a new member and keen Audi enthusiast.
I drive a 2003 S3 Quattro. Been having an issue with the diff locking in reverse gear, and getting "stuck" or "jamming" around sharp turns both left and right. Initially I thought it was the CV joints and had the CV joints replaced.
Took my Baby in to the local Audi Centre. Initially I was told the differential transfer case needs to be replaced. Done. It made no difference! Within a week the problem resurfaced and rendered the car undrivable.
Took the car back to the Centre. I was then told it would appear the problem is in the final drive. Had final drive pulled and checked by a differential specialist. No problems found. Replaced all seals. Refitted the unit. This still made no difference.
Pulled the gearbox. Checked the carrier. No problem found on the carrier either. Prop has been checked. No problems on the prop. All couplings and seals replaced.
Entire unit has now been refitted, and still the problem cannot be found.
I'm at my wit's end!
Any suggestions?
