Question Do you know what the difference is between a 2001.5 AWM and a 2002 AWM?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what the difference is between a 2001.5 AWM and a 2002 AWM?

I didn't think there would be any difference, but I'm having my 2001.5 AWM replaced with a 2002 AWM (it came out of an '02), but the oil pan is different (it doesn't have the sensor in the bottom), the plugs from my engine are too big for the new engine and probably a few more things I haven't noticed yet.

Any idea why they would be different?

Thanks

What you are describing is the difference between an audi and a passat AWM. I would pull the pan off your car and run with your electronics.

Hmmm. I never thought of that. Thanks.

I did notice that the oil pan is different (I swapped mine). Other than that, is there anything I should know (power differences, ECM issues, etc.)?

Thanks again.

If you don't run the oil pan sensor your dash will be flashing the oil light at you I believe. it's also an oil temp sensor and drives the oil temp gauge if I'm not mistaken.
Also, the suspension that rests under the pan may be a bit different between cars, just guessing.
