are your emissions test strict? or what state do you live in?

 

I live in nj and I think they are pretty strict...its no big deal for me to swap a tp and a cat when its time for inspection because I work at a shop and have access to tools and a lift

 

well i would tell you go with HFC just to save you time and work,
but yea if you want to swap them every so often then go for it...

Does anything need to be done with the ecu when using a tp to avoid a CEL?

 

Not with the ECU, but you may need to get some non-foulers to mount the o2 sensor to the TP, otherwise it may throw out a CEL. But spark plug non-foulers correct that. Do a search, and you should be able to find a ton about them. and what size non-foulers worked for people. GL

ya i dont mind doing the work and i dont have that much money because im just a high school kid...but i want to find out the hp and tourque differences between the two...if any one can help with this please post!
