dying audi in need of help

i know my audi isnt dying but i really need some help. so my check engine light came on right after my car started riding really rough, so i checked the codes and i got P0302 which is the second cylinder misfiring. so i replaced my spark plugs and upgraded them and my car started to run like normal and then on my way home from work it started to ride rough again and i dont know what it could be (i just turned 16 so i dont know much). can anyone help?

Have your coil packs checked, first go to your local audi dealer and see if you A4 qualifies for the coil pack Recall,if so you will get all 4 coil packs replaced by your Audi dealer, free of charge,if you do not qualify, then simply have them checked regardless and if one or more is bad, simply go to Autozone, they sell them for only 21.00 each or less.

I bought one for 21.00 a couple months ago but that was before i remembered that Audi of america, had a recall in effect on all coil packs on my 2001 Audi A4 1.8T.

Good luck friend :)

plugs and coils (swap coil#2 to see if the misfire follows) if all else fails find an ignition control module (infamous cylinder 2 misfire issue) I have one if you need one PM me

how much would i need to give you for the ignition control module? im replacing the second coil pack today but if it doesnt work im gonna replace the ICM. how much would you want for it?

Whatever is fair to you, youll have to get me the part number off of yours or take a pic to make sure its the correct one first

well i just replaced the second coil pack and that has seemed to fix the problem. i went out and drove it after i replaced it and the roughness ended so i believe that was the problem but thanks. if i end up needing that part ill be sure to go to you

well the coil pack didnt fix it. it started riding rough again. i dont know what to do know. i dont want to guess and check to fix my car because ill end up wasting alot of money. i know i can take it to a shop but will they actually find the problem that needs to be fixed?

Here's the thing, with the shop that's what they do, only they charge you around 80 an hour to do so. I mean some guys are super good at troubleshooting. If you did the plugs, and coil, there's not much else it could be. new ICM's are 200-300 dollars, and used are expensive. If you want the ignition control module, i will not ask for gold for it. Its for a pre-face lift car (I see you have a 97) so it should work, its useless to me. I'm willing to give it to you for next to nothing compared to what others want. Just private message me if you're interested. If I can help you out that would be better than making a fortune off of a little part that i have no use for
