ecu question

Default ecu question

i was looking around on ebay for a giac chip, and i saw someone selling one pulled from a 2000 1.8T Manual, will it fit in my 99.5 1.8T Tip ? or is it different, its the whole ecu assembly hes selling.

im am pretty absolutely sure not haha... Nah swapping a manual ecu in when you have a tip car is not going to work awe-tuning.com check it out...

also it says for all 1.8T/30V whats 30v, ive seen that said before, just not sure what it was

30V is the V6 engine from the later 2.8s

ok I'm getting a giac, but it's just the chip, is it an easy diy if you have electric skills and experience soldering, or should I send out my ecu?

When i had my A4 I had a GIAC chip put in when i did my bigger turbo. About half way through the video is a small section where you can see him soldering it.

Thats because he is one of the guys who helped GIAC get off the ground if I remember correctly. It was cool watching him do it too.
