I have a 2001 A4 1.8t Avant AWM

When scanning the computer with VCDS the Engine component says it's "1.8L R4/5VT G 0001". When I google that the only thing I get back is listings about Unitronic ECU tune programs.

I think maybe the previous owner flashed the ECU in my car and didn't tell me. I have no idea. The car has crappy low RPM acceleration and seems to run rich without complaining about running rich, so I'm thinking something may be up with the ECU program. Just don't know how to very.

If I can flash or get the ECU flashed to use the stock OEM program, then I can rule out the ECU being an issue.
I have VCDS, etc...can I update the computer with that?

I have some questions for the group:
1. How do I verify my ECU has the correct program?
2. If it doesn't have the correct program, where do I get the correct program?
3. Has anyone ever dealt with reprogramming your ECU?

I don't give a **** about upgrades...I'm just trying to get my Audi to run right...
