hi all, simple question... where is it the ecu warnng light? does it even have 1??

with the ignition on, prior to starting the engine, there is no ecu light. iv taken the dials out to see if som1 has removed the bulb to find they are fixed LEDs and i cannot see where the ecu light even would be??

There isn't one. There is a Check Engine Light, which if there is an issue with the ECU it will trigger the CEL

 

would that be the EPC light?

i stumbled accross the owners handbook and this seems to be the closest related thing to what im looking for.

iv removed the dials again to investigte and there is no LED mounted for this warning light....

having issues with the motor, diagnosing with vagcom but would be very useful to have a warning light so i know exactly when another code is logged

 

1998's dont have an EPC light, only a check engine light, the EPC was added for drive by wire cars.
