Default EMUSA Turbocharger Vs Borg warner..Please help!!!!

Hi friends,

I have posted a thread couple of weeks before regarding turbocharger for my 98 Audi A4 1.8T car. Today I took it to another mechanic and he said that the wastegatevalve is gone and there is a big hole there. He actually showed me that missing valve in my turbo.

So he gave me an estimate for an aftermarket turbo, which comes with one one year warranty. The turbo is EMUSA brand and is priced at $495. Did you guys know anything about this brand? He said that he will take care of all problems that happens in the one year.

But I asked him about the borg warner turbo and he said that he can put a new borgwarner for $625. Will this be genuine? Or shall I go for EMUSA?

Please advise.

Thanks

Borg-Warner and KKK made the K03, K03s, and K04. From what I found on Google EMUSA makes a wide variety of products from turbos to coilovers. I also found out they're an eBay based company and they're far from name-brand. Personally, I'd feel safer with the OEM replacement (Borg-Warner).

My wastegate was 'eaten away' also. 'ebay' or 'china' turbo certainly not an option.

But an alternative to new KKK (they came down in price, but still pricey) is: quality rebuilt.

I had mine rebuilt to complete factory new condition (all wear parts, links, seals, actuators, etc. and even the housing cleaned, actuator calibrated, etc.) for 1/3 of new.

Still driving it, literally 'good as new'.

Mine was done here in Michigan at

www.turbo-world.us
(new website; still under construction I think)
