yes this is correct. make sure what ever cylinder you are working on is on TDC for the Combustion stroke. another thing to do if the air pressure wont hold is to get some long string and feed it in the spark plug hole so it coils up on top of the piston. then you turn the motor to bring the piston up and hold the valve.

Does anyone know a place to get the compressor for cheap? I can't believe $160 is the cheapest. He said he has one for the vr6 and 2l for vw. Would those work for removing them? I'm just trying to find the most efficient way to do this. And he was saying the ohc valve spring compressor won't work for the intake valves.

heres a link to one for $130 Schley Products, Inc , 91400B Universal OHC Valve Spring Compressor and this is what it looks like. and it should work for all valves. the one he has may be for the old style heads. if its the new style vr6 or 2 liter head it should work fine. $130 for that one is pretty cheap too. I ve been looking for quite some time as i want/need one and can't cam across much for cheap. if i knew you better id almost be willing to go in on some sort of deal with you if you only need to use it once

why dont you get a 2.8 tranny? bolts up an everything, plus its way more beefy and can handle whatever *loosely speaking* you can throw at it.
