Error Code P1423 Secondary Air pump
 

New 2000 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 owner
First Day
It started twice then the ignition switch went Had it towed in and Had the switch replaced 180 dollars later I am up and running but now the check engine light is on so can not get it inspected I find out the Guy I bought t from had a used Secondary air pump put on and the mechanic told him it was the wrong one but he said put it on anyway.

I had the Error codes Cleared drove it 75 miles and had it inspected before the CEL came back and am on the road legally.

I really want to put on the right Secondary air Pump because I know the dreaded CEL will be back. Also my turn signals will not work they just light up but will not blink. I was told to replace the hazard switch. Any feedback would be great.
Also anyone have a good place to buy the parts online I want to make sure I get the right Stuff but looks like the price is from 89 dollars to 500 form the pump.
is it hard to put on any DIY instructions available

3 problems in three weeks if this car was not so much fun to drive I would be pissed

The SAI pump is not hard to replace, it's behind the bumper on the passenger side, there are some DIY out there.

As far as your turn signals, do your hazards work? What I'm asking is, do your HAZARDS work and flash all the way around and flash fine and just your turn signals don't work?

Have you checked the fuses and the bulbs?

I thought it might be the Bulbs too. then they starting working again and now no blinking when I turn on Ill try The flasher. I found some install instructions on u tube.
Where is the best place to buy the part.

Also make sure the correct bulbs are being used for the turn signals....turn signals are 1156, if you put the 1157s in, they won't work.

If your hazards work, but the turn signals don't, it is generally the hazard switch though.

OR, there may be someone parting a car out in this forum, look under the for sale section on the main page....

you could also go to the junk yard like many of us do and get the part....if that pump that is on your car is working, and in good shape, you could always re-sell it as used once you have the correct one installed.....

I buy a lot of stuff from ecstuning, but there are some other sites you can get parts from, blauparts.com, etc...other members have other sites....
