I found after some research that in order to put big lcd display instrument cluster in a car design for the old style u need to have the wiper handle and to do a lot off electric mods and make sure the new cluster is not a one with imobilizer i know the one in 99.5 does not have that

The biggest problem is that the mileage cannot be changed on the cluster after 10 miles have been logged.

You would have to buy a brand new cluster and then you would be able to program in your old mileage. Or get super lucky and find a cluster that ~matches your mileage.

You fail at research then. No b5s have IMMO. EVER.

You need the whole dash harness from that year with an lcd, and same HVAC
1 google search later...

phil i say its worth it, just do you're research and take your time finding a good cluster. most good clusters are usually for sale(that Ive seen) for about 140. just wait for one within your mileage.
