FMIC question
Hey guys!
This might be a dumb question, but... am I able to have the stock fogs with a FMIC installed, or will they not fit anymore? |

yes they will still fit
Attachment 29400 Attachment 29401 but depends on how wide the intercooler is and how the pipes run. |
Very much depends on which FMIC you run. Most of the larger eBay cores/kits won't work, although some guys on the zine recently dug up a seller who offers aluminum charge pipes that will allow you to keep the fogs. APR's kit uses a custom core with the inlet and outlet on the same side that won't even fit behind the stock bumper, let alone allow you to run fog lights. What turbo are you running? What size core did you have in mind?
Another thing to keep in mind is that to fit just about any FMIC, you'll need to trim or even remove the re-bar behind the bumper. This might not be a big deal but if you sit in traffic a lot or live in a busy area you might want to think about it. |

The one in the larger picture on top looks like an eBay job and the one in the sig picture is made by "ecode" according to the text in the picture. However that also looks like a B6 and doesn't appear to be in the US.

Why is the IC do low in the big picture? Yea that looks like a b6 and it's for sure not in the us haha
|
Oh ok. How can you tell just from looking at the picture, that it might be an eBay FMIC?

Understood, it's actually not that low lol. My mistake. I didn't realize it was sitting above the front valance. I thought it was below it . So it is possible to install it with out cutting the re bar, Do you have one? Any tips!?

Mike over at ringerracing.com has custom FMIC that fit behind a stock B5 bumper without any cutting involved. Check it out, and give them a call.
