Front ash tray will not eject.

My ashtray works fine, my problem is the cig, lighter near the e-brake... that things been jammed shut for over a year now. anyone have any idea on how to get that open?

I don't think I need a new ashtray, thanks though. I just need to get the sliding mechanism out so that I can get all the coins and God knows what's back there.
