Default fwd tranny max torq.

Hi guys i know this question has been answered lots of times but i wanna be clear to start my project.

the tranny in my car is the zf5hp19fl and its max torque is 230 ft tq. (this came uo when i searched) im planning on going gtrs as ive been told its torque curve is not very agressive compared to a k04.

My question is, can that tranny hold a bit more lets say 240 245tq ?

Thanks a lot!!

You'll be fine. Plenty of guys around here are pushing more than that on stock transmissions. Only guy I've ever seen blow up a B5 tranny is Mike Hood on his 800AWHP drag car

Is this a TIP transmission your talking about?

FWD should hold more power seeing that there is less wheel resistance.

Mike, I think you might have a better thought on this. Would lift shifting an autoomatic (tip) prolong its death if ruunning a k04 tune? Or am I just making up stupid stuff?

Wouldn't make a difference. There are a bunch of tip owners that are running Elim kits without a problem.

TIP/FWD figure around 275-280whp on pump gas. Just depends on what supporting mods are on the car.
