Default FYI Ebay Control Arm Kit

In case any of you have read about the FCP Grotan control arm kit from ebay.. This kit/seller is the FCP Grotan kit for $210 shipped which is around $50 less than I have seen it advertised. It doesn't say in the ad that it is FCP Grotan, but when I got my package today, thats what it is and who it is from. For some reason I thought that I got the FCP kit (and paid $260,) and then looked and it was from this seller, and was worried that it was something different or maybe not as good... But it's not! The arms and all look very good - machine-wise. No crooked press jobs on the bushings, and the ball joint boots arent flimbsy or anything. Was packaged very well... I'm very hopeful! Can't get to work on this until tomorrow, though

TheDevil and a few other members are happy with his set, and all the feedback on ebay I can find for this kit is positive. Time will tell but so far so good, I'd say. If anyone wants pics of the parts then let me know. Don't know what it'll accomplish for you, but some people just like eye candy.

I ordered the same kit and i was actually excited to see it was from FCP Grotan because ive used the same suspension on my passat.
Packaging is pretty ridiculous to.
I have like 50 little boxes that say FCP Grotan on them now.

Its a great price and the quality is great.

Hey - got your PM and was going to reply that way but I'll just do so here. I've got probably 5-7k miles on mine so far. Same initial impressions as you just posted here. The last week or two I've noticed a few little clunks and rattles in the front but I did not torque the arms down with the suspension loaded so I'll be setting it up to do so this weekend. I also believe that the rattle is actually a loose inner brake pad clip and not the suspension arms. Handling and ride are very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Well I got done with everything today. My original conrtol arms that I took off were not in horrible shape. Only a couple slightly lose upper ball joints on each side. My tie rod ends were replaced with heavy duty Meyle stuff about 20k miles ago, so I kept them in - which means I don't really need an alignment at this point. The front end is definitely tighter and more responsive, though. Wheel bearings fixed my womp-womp-womp and grinding... New front brakes helped, but the rears still need done. I'm pretty happy with my car again. After tires and rear brakes and getting an exhuast leak fixed, I'll be content.

And after not actualy driving this car in 9 months, wow I missed that boost!

Thanks, good to know. Wasn't a party getting them out, but reassembly was a total breeze. The most key point of the whole experience I think was greasing the center of that new GD pinch bolt.
