FYICOOLANT STOP LEAK and YOUR B5...

I haven't used stop leak in any car since I was a teenager in the 70s....found out the hard way back then....the stuff should be outlawed!! Once it's in the system you can NEVER get it out completely out of your engine-EVER! I'm trying to become a chemist lately, and figure out a compound that WILL eat it all up without destroying the engine more....

A customer brought us his Audi A4 with no heat, diagnosed it as heater core. He had a water pump leak as well, so we asked him point blank IF he'd EVER put stop leak in his car? He said no...doing the heater core is a big pain as most of you know...while doing the water pump, noticed some 'stuff' which to me, looked like stop leak-called him AGAIN, and he said, he'd owned the car since day one and NEVER put the stuff in.....yeah sure, right etc... Put a note on his invoice, since I KNEW it was stop leak. Installed everything, including heater core, 8 hour job...and off he went.....WE did FLUSH his system TWICE completely with pressure and a machine.....

Here are some pictures of the BRAND NEW HEATER CORE WE INSTALLED, after 2 flushes, ONLY 2 WEEKS LATER, that stopped working AGAIN....and he's TRYING to blame us for HIM putting COOLANT STOP LEAK IN himself.....to save money..

If you look at the pics, half the holes are for intake, other for outlet....they are CLOGGED with stop leak, looks like a rubber gasket almost...I KNOW this guy put MORE than ONE can in his car...also, when I took his reservoir out, it had so much gunk and pellets in it..he poured it into the reservoir because there IS no cap on the B5s....

BEWARE of people using stop leak and NEVER USE IT! EVER!!!

Yep bad stuff. Amazing that people use it thinking it'll plug a leak but ignore all the pores and capillaries that need to be open, as if it can differentiate...
