Default Gauge Cluster ?

Can anyone confirm that this is a direct (plug and play) swap? Am I going to have any immobilizer issues to worry about?

I have a 1998 A4 2.8l 30v (stick) - gauge cluster needs to be replaced (needles stick). I have a gauge cluster from a 1999 A4 2.8l (stick).

Any insights, or is this as straight forward as I am hoping?

Thanks

Did you buy a new cluster? Are the mileages the same on the clusters?

1. I have an extra cluster (as described in the previous post) from a part-out that I am doing.........I just want to know if it is an easy swap electronically, or if I should just take them apart and fix teh pieces that are broken and put the original back in.

2. No, the mileages are not the same, but it doesn't matter because the car that it is going in is never going to be sold..........

Cosmetically, they are identical........just want to get an idea of what I am going to find once I take things apart.
