Lightbulb got my first audi (a4)

so im pretty stoked on owning one of these cars. so i do have a question though. its the fwd a4 non quattro. now im trying to order some timing components from ecstuning and has an option of 12v or 30v. which one do i have? im guessing 30v would be quattro and 12v for well..mine ! thanks in advance.

You should really read the noob section up top of the b5 a4 page it has lots of useful info and if you ask simple questions like this often people will eat you alive (sucks but thats the way it is). Since this is your first post you have an excuse.

What year is your car? 30v and 12v refer to the engine type, both are v6 but different years. All 1.8t are 20v (the v stands for valves) you don't need to worry about fwd or quattro for timing parts. You should put all your vehicle info in your signature which you can edit in "user cp" which is in the upper left.

i hate to admit it, but you have the most least desirable b5 possible (does that even make sense?). but hey, it beats the hell out of a 96 civic.

congrats on the new car. I also have a 12v, its a sturdy little motor. doing the timing belt ASAP is a good call on your part. welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum! I'm also part of the FWD club. Dont take too much crap from the Quattro guys, we're lighter!

The other guys are right, the 12v motor isnt very peppy, but that guy will run forever, and you wont have as much maintenance as us 1.8t guys.

post some pics.
