So I've been on this board for a while, done a few small mods, but still in the process of deciding what to do for BT. The problem is I jumped the gun getting a GIAC chip in my car, paid 600$CAN for what was essentially a ECU flash.

Thinking about getting a gt2x or gtrs, gt2x I can get a GIAC flash that'll work (for cheap as it's an upgrade). gtrs - can I even run one with GIAC software?

Would I be able to run the gtrs on some GIAC software, and just have to be happy with the fact it's not running at its full potential? Or is this a very bad idea, and will run rich/lean cause knock/engine damage, etc?

I don't know what other options I have except scraping that 600$

 

If you cant get a gaic flash for a gtrs, sell the that ecu and get a used ecu with either the chip you want of have it flashed/chipped with it. You should be able to recover $300-400 for your chipped ecu and as used ecu is ~$150.
