Warped rotor?

Boober 01-21-2011 02:47 PM

naw, every brake component is brand new. just did the A8 upgrade.

before i get flamed for starting another thread, the original got so long and this problem's evolved into something entirely different and i have a vid/audio that will hopefully help diagnose the issue.

thanks to everybody for the support and willingness to help out.

oooo i know i know

its the black plate with a lip on it, maybe brake dust shield? idk what its called or whatever but check that... i recommend going out to your car, sitting on the ground with one leg on each side of your tire (straddling it) and reaching in between the spokes of your wheels and pushing on that black plate away from yourself. idk if thats what your problem is, but mine made a similar problem, and i pushed it back and it stopped.

sounds like wheel bearing to me. jack up the car and try to jiggle the wheel

I think your best bet is to get under there and start checking for loose parts. Also, does it sound any different when you turn sharply? I'm thinking CV joint, or a dead cat caught on your driveshaft.

I'll check the dust shield. I did the bearing last week thinking thats what it was, didnt make any difference at all. doesnt change if turn sharply.

I vote for the dead cat :D

Had the same noise on my front drivers side turned out to be the inner tie rod, I replaced the outer trying to save money then the inner went months later. No noise now.
