I replaced the coolant temperature sensor with a defective blue one I had left over from my previous car. The car seems to start a lot easier now.
I am looking at which to buy. My options are = - Dealer/OEM for $30. - Napa Auto Parts aftermarket for $22-25. NAPA AUTO PARTS NAPA AUTO PARTS Other times I wouldn't even think about it and just buy OEM, but some of these parts are pretty much the same. Does anyone know if they are made by the same manufacturer? Also, the one from Napa is not the "updated" version. Edit: Made up my mind to go OEM and not risk it. If I should go aftermarket, let me know. |
I've got a NAPA one in mine. Had it for over a year.

Which one? Black or blue?
|
Mine's a 99 2.8 and it's blue.

More importantly. Square vs round. ECS sent me the wrong one when I ordered from them.

Went to start my car after my last post and it struggled, but eventually started. I noticed the dash lights flickered before finally firing up. Left it alone for a few seconds and started it up again; dash lights flickered once more. Came back once more and tried to start it; dash lights flickered and then it started clicking. It didn't start.
Now I need to figure out whether it is the battery or alternator. Edit: After letting the battery charge for a few minutes, I started the car up fine. My dad disconnected a positive terminal and the car kept running - he said he thinks it's the battery and not the alternator. Can anyone agree/disagree? |
your dads test sums it up.
| How long was the battery sitting since last start? |
