i just got some HID headlights and i was wondering how to wire up the city lights... some people say to splice it into the parking lights? i just was wonder what every one else does.

I'm looking into doing this to my car also. I have the "wiring kit" from ecstuning (which consists of a wire.....) but have been lagging on doing this. Do you know what wire you would cut into in the parking light? I don't have a volt meter, so I need to know what wire by how it looks....

i ordered my new headlights and HID kit today, so i'll probably have to do that as well (hopefully soon)

yeah i was looking into puttin some city lights in cause i have the valeo e-codes and it has a pre-drilled hole, and wires run for some other light and im not sure what it is. im not sure if i would be able to use the wires they have, casue im not sure what would turn them on, but i am interested in how other people are hooking them up. what are you guys gunna use as a switch to turn them on?

 

Well.....if you use teh link that trevor303 showed, they would come on with the parking lights. That almost defeats the point though...since the parking lights would be on. I remember reading about somebody rigging thier parking lights so that they only functioned as blinkers....but I am not sure how that was done.

 

Seems like that would be begging for a ticket from any cop without much to do.

 

well...it's not as if a cop is going to expect your parking lights to be on, unless your headlights are on. Even then...that would have to be a very observant officer because I would imagine that seeing headlights would call away attention from the parking lights.

 

is anyone running a seperate wire for the lights? id be more interested in seeing how to do that, i think the city lights should be independent from the other lights, cause that would look the best, i only plan on using them while parked.
