Hesitation in shifting between 2nd & 3rd
Hello all,
I'm new to the forum but glad to be here. I have a 96 A4 Quattro 2.8L with automatic transmission. The tranny was replaced along with the radiator about 9mo ago. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago. I had to replace the battery over the weekend and I have since noticed that I see a hesitation periodically in shifting from 2nd to 3rd, especially when I need to quickly accelerate. All other gears shift perfectly. The engine runs great and there are no other issues.
The hesitation that I experience is a brief increase in the RPM and then it shifts whereas when shifting to other gears, it is smooth and the RPMs drop right away.
I have service manual but not a scanner that can read European yet, only domestic and asian. I suspect that it might be a throttle position sensor or maybe even a solenoid in the transmission.
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!
