RE: hood latch
as for the hood latch. it has plenty of slack in the line, i tried adjusting both the latch on the shroud and on the hood and no luck. is there something supposed to connected to the electrical connection on it? if so, what does that do exactly?

RE: hood latch
The electrical connection is just so the cluster knows its closed, if its not closed it will show your hoods open on the display. Thats all it does. You probably need a new latch.
The vid you posted doesn't sound like a normal power steering noise, more like a pulley bearing. Use some BP blaster right at the PS pulley and see if it goes away. As well as other pulleys like A/C ect.

RE: hood latch
New guy here just bought my first audi. Back to the power steering noise. I work as a GM tech and we have a lot of problems with air getting inside the power steering system. try lifting the front wheels of the ground and turning the wheel from stop to stop like 20 times. just have the key on and the engine off. this with help bleed the system of air. make sure the cap is off the pump so any excess fluid can escape. some times you have to do it a couple of times
