How do I shave the headlight sprayers?
For those of you that have done this. How do I shave off the headlight sprayers? They don't work, so I want to have a smooth bumper. Do I use bondo? I have abs cement, but that won't fill a hole (at least I dont think it will). Any suggestions?

take off the covers, remove the sprayers and you might be able to sell them. if you go to a auto parts store you can buy al this stuff. you'll need this tape kind of thing that you can put behind the bumper and then you fill it with bondo. sand it prime it paint it clear coat it and you're done lo. it's easier said than done and you'll need a few days for the whole job.

theres holes when u take them off, u can't really shave it, u may as well get an aftermarket bumper if u don't like it.

Seems like a lot of work for little return. I'd just leave it alone.
Either that, or just replace the pump for the washers and get them working. |

its a bitch and nowhere even near worth it i tried then hit a cayote and the only damage i had was the cracked bondo that was in the holes.

You would have to repaint the whole bumper if you wanted it done nicley. Insted of just painting the sanded down bondo part.

go aftermarket and save yourself the bullsh!t. or fix the washers

Too late, I painted the whole bumper. I took the sprayers out since they don't work, and just glued down the sprayer covers.

BlueBoost.... you stole my avatar??? WTF mate.
*edit* and you're incorrect. Fiberglass is not the way to go. Best bet is to plastic weld in a filler, and prep with a plastica filler and prime/paint accordingly.treat it just like metal regarding filling... the more nativce material is there, the more the fill will look OEM. i'm sure you'll get alot of "fiberglass and bondo" replies, but with how much expansion and contraction the plastic bumpers do, it'll pop or crack in a week. |
