How heavy is your clutch pedal? at what point does it engage? (98 v6)
I have a 98 A4 2.8 v6. the car has been well maintained, and i'm sorting some of the issues...
One of the problems (if it is one) is that, compared to my Golf A4 TDi, the clutch seems quite heavy, and engages pretty high. It grabs well, and doesn't slip, but going from one car to the other there is a noticable difference in the amount of effort needed to push the pedal in. It doesn't fell like it's binding, the travel is smooth, and there isn't any noise.. i was just wondering if this is normal, or am I looking at clutch problems down the road? are there any adjustments for the engagement point?

yes it's normal and no there are no adjustments. the manual A4s i've driven all have different heaviness in the clutch but engaged about the same height. it engages rly high for no reason IMO. you can't rly shift fast and have the next gear engagement be effective and it's kind of hard to practice not pressing the clutch down all the way to shift fast. plus the dual mass flywheel doesn't help fast shifting

I just replaced my clutch with a new southbend stgIII w/ spec 16lb LWFW....
And my pedal feel got LIGHTER if anything, and the engagement point changed NOT AT ALL.
The pedal is very light, and engages very high in the pedal travel.
