I've got my hood, right fender, front bumper, and rear bumper resprayed this coming week and was wondering how long I should wait before driving around with it? I'll have the car back Thursday from the body shop and have a 200 mile drive back to school on Sunday.

 

A few days is usually good, with a wait of 10 days before washing and 90 before waxing. Ask the shop first though.

 

had the bumper resprayed 2 years ago...2 days after the respray I waxed it...the bumper still looks like it was sprayed yesterday....

 

a plastic bumper is different then metal body panels. plastic can more or less 'breathe' where as metal is completely solid and impenetrable. i normally only wait 30 days before the first wax though.

 

As I said.. ask the shop first.

So far, I've not had problems either, but every time I've needed a rear bumper resprayed, I was told the wait the 10 and 90 days.

Yea I'll ask when I pick the car up but right now I'm 200 miles away at school. I've heard the wash/wax precautions before and I'll follow them, I just didnt know if the paint will be too fresh to take it on the highway for 200+miles.
